Curing Christianity - Book Review
This is a brief review of the book, Curing Christianity, by D. L. Webster.
I recently listened to the audiobook version of Curing Christianity by D. L. Webster, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Here is the review I submitted for NetGalley.
D. L. Webster has done a wonderful job in Curing Christianity of presenting Christianity in a healthy form, characterized by love and compassion. This book exposes and counters some of the more common toxic and unhelpful teachings of churches, and it does so with respect and kindness. It serves well as a model.
The chapter on truth and the author’s treatment of what he calls “bibliolatry” and sexuality (emphasis on purity culture and its effects) are particularly valuable for readers of various backgrounds and experiences. The information on interpretation is essential for anyone genuinely interested in understanding the teachings of the Bible.
I recommend Curing Christianity by D. L. Webster. It addresses very similar themes to my book.
